Clients seeking a brighter smile can anticipate maintenance visits once or twice a year. It’s important to note that teeth brightening is a progressive treatment, meaning that the more treatments you undergo, the more significant the impact and results. However, it’s essential to maintain good dental health and consider lifestyle habits such as smoking, consuming red wine and coffee. Failure to do so may hinder the longevity of the results.

Every client’s teeth will respond uniquely to the treatment. Our brightening gel is designed to whiten teeth to their maximum potential shade and, on average, can brighten teeth by up to 10 shades.

Microblading

Your technician is a trained professional who is also licensed as a Permanent Cosmetics Tattoer by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation in the state of Virginia.

Category: Microblading

Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime.  Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual’s color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.

The pain level for the procedure is generally considered mild to none.  Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure.  Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.

Yes! A touch up session after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled.  Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the color for the whole year!

We take all proper precautions for a safe session by using sterilized equipment, new needles and in a sanitized environment.  Should clients follow our pre and post-care instructions, there should be minimal risks or complications.  Although allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, it could be possible for certain individuals. We suggest a pigment patch test for individuals who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to:

  • Topical makeup products
  • Gold, silver, and nickel
  • Hair dyes

Patch tests will be preformed at the consultation at client’s request.

Within 2 hours after the procedure, clean brows using a q-tip and lightly moisten with water. Gently wipe away the old healing balm and any lymphatic liquid (clear yellowish liquid) that may have built up. Lightly pat dry with tissue and using a new q-tip, re-apply healing balm to the brows.

Eyelash Extensions

The eyelash extension application is non-invasive and pain-free – the extensions are applied using special adhesive and your eyes are closed during the whole process. They are applied to the eyelash and not directly onto the eyelid skin. Having eyelash extensions should not damage your natural lashes provided they are applied correctly, extensions that are suitable for your own lashes are selected, and they are treated with care. The lashes with the extensions attached will shed naturally over a period of 6 weeks and re-generate.

Category: Eyelash Extensions

Ideally, eyelash extensions should last for the life of your natural lashes, which is usually around 4-6 weeks. Keep in mind however, we can all lose up to 5 natural lashes each day as mature lashes fall out and new ones grow. The longevity of your eyelash extensions are also influenced by many factors including but not limited to; lifestyle, use of make up products, cleansing routine, skin type, and lash growth cycle. By getting an infill every 2-4 weeks, you can maintain the fullness of your lashes indefinitely.

Some common culprits of lashes not lasting:

Oily skin and using skincare products containing oil – lash adhesive doesn’t agree with oil!

Lack of cleansing – the eye area is naturally quite oily. Not washing the area means there will be a build up of oils secreted by the skin, and this will not only weaken your lash growth but make the extensions fall off very quickly.

Not rinsing off your make upremover – many clients choose to use an eye makeup remover using a pad or a makeup remover wipe. These products contain emollients to avoid drying out your delicate eye area. This film must be washed off afterwards with a foaming cleanser or it will have a similar effect to using an oil product on the eyes.

Excessive touching – playing with the lashes is fun but your fingertips contain oil (just look at the screen on your phone or keyboard on your computer) and you are applying oil every time you touch the them. Please leave them alone other than during your daily washing ritual!

Lifestyle factors – extensions never last as well on people who regularly sweat it out at the gym, go swimming, do hot yoga etc. You must be prepared to get infills more often than others.

Heavy makeup – extensions also never last as well on people who wear a lot of makeup (especially eye makeup) daily compared to someone who wears little or no makeup. More makeup means more products and more effort to remove everything.

Lash cycle – many factors including hormones, season and diet can affect the speed of your lash cycle. It is quite normal that sometimes your lashes naturally shed quicker than other times.

Lash design – the extensions selected may be too long and/or too thick for your natural lashes, causing them to twist or fall off prematurely. The design chosen may also not be well supported by how your lashes grow naturally eg. a cat eye styling when the natural lashes on the outer corners are very short and fine. This can be discussed with your stylist at your next appointment.

Please keep in mind it is completely normal and healthy to lose around 3 lashes per day whether you have extensions or not.

Now that you have Paradigm Lashes take note of these tips to maintain them.

* Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours

* Do not use a spa, sauna, or pool for the first 24 hours. The extensions need that amount of time to properly bond.

* Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes.

* Do not use oil-based eye products, creams or waterproof mascara

* Use only water-based makeup and makeup remover around the eyes

* Keep your lashes clean! Use complimentary spoolie to gently brush your lashes to remove dirt and debris

* Remove makeup around the eye with a cotton swab

* Do not perm, tint or use an eyelash curler

* You can dry your lashes by using a hair dryer on the cool setting and blowing them dry from the bottom up. It makes them curly and fluffy.

* Please see a trained lash technician to have your extensions removed

* To extend the life of your lashes please schedule touch-ups every 2-3 weeks

Please ensure all traces of eye make-up is removed with an oil-free cleanser before you arrive for the application. If you choose to get your lashes tinted, they must be done a few days prior to the lash appointment. If you have previously received an eye perm treatment, you will need to wait at least 3 months until the extensions can be applied. Please avoid using an eyelash curler on your lashes on the day of your appointment, and if you are sensitive to caffeine, avoid caffeinated drinks prior. As you cannot get your eye area wet for 24 hours after the application, it may be a good idea to gym, shower or wash your hair beforehand.

Category: Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions differ to bar/strip lashes or cluster lashes in that each extension is individually bonded onto one natural lash, strand by strand, and not the eyelid skin, resulting in a much more natural look and feel. Compared to false lashes, eyelash extensions have a much greater longevity, however the extensions attached are somewhat limited to what your natural lashes can handle. Thus if you have naturally fine and short lashes and are used to wearing dramatic fake lashes, please keep in mind the extensions may not give you the impact you are used to.
